Vintage Royal Copenhagen Blue Fluted Plain Porcelain Saucer Plate

Royal Copenhagen's Blue Fluted pattern, known in Danish as Musselmalet, was the very first porcelain design produced by the Royal Danish Porcelain Manufactory in 1775. The motif was heavily inspired by traditional Chinese flora and fauna designs, which were immensely popular among European royal courts during the eighteenth century.

Each piece of this iconic pattern is meticulously hand-painted by skilled artisans, requiring thousands of delicate brushstrokes beneath a clear glaze. Over the centuries, the pattern has evolved into three distinct versions—Plain, Half Lace, and Full Lace—with the Plain variant remaining a timeless classic of Scandinavian porcelain design.
