Le Cheval Magique Plate by Haviland Limoges

Haviland Limoges made fine porcelain wares in the historic French porcelain center of Limoges. These decorative collector plates were produced in the late 1970s as limited edition series aimed at the growing market for decorative home display pieces. Craftsmen used traditional high-fire porcelain methods combined with specialized transfer printing techniques to reproduce detailed artist illustrations onto the smooth white ceramic surface.

Families and art enthusiasts displayed these colorful plates on walls or on plate stands in living rooms and dining areas. They were purchased as decorative accents or commemorative gifts rather than for everyday dining use. Over time, changing home decor trends caused production of such themed decorative plate series to slow down and eventually cease.
